Mission Statement

In an age of increasing evil the ancient spiritual practice of exorcism is in demand. The Catholic Church believes there should be an exorcist in every diocese. The Church of England (Anglican) wants an exorcist in every parish. Martin Luther, the father of the Reformation, included an exorcism ritual in the service books for pastors and made exorcism a part of baptism. Justin Martyr (2nd Century apologist), Tertullian (2nd Century polemicist) Origin (3rd century theologian), St. Cyril (4th century Bishop of Jerusalem), and other church Fathers all taught that exorcism was a normal part of church life.

Unfortunately, not a single Protestant denomination has a seminary that teaches exorcism. Those who feel called by God to cast out evil spirits have had nowhere to turn for comprehensive instruction – until now! Rev. Bob Larson, the world’s foremost Protestant exorcist, has a vision to restore prayers of exorcism to Christianity and has founded the International School of Exorcism (ISE)®. Rev. Larson explains, “One-third of all the chapters in the synoptic Gospels contain instances of exorcism and references to demonic possession. In our world of rampant crime, inhumanity, and child abuse, the need to boldly confront demonic forces is more critical than ever.”

ISE’s mission is to train those called to fulfill Christ’s command to heal the brokenhearted and set the captives free (Luke 4:18). The School’s curriculum is specifically designed to teach Christian leaders and laypersons the spiritual disciplines of inner healing, deliverance, and exorcism.  Various levels of certification are available to those who feel called to this ministry.

Instructional studies include in-depth training in Basic Curse Breaking, the Weapons of Spiritual Warfare, Mental & Emotional Aspects of Deliverance, and Procedures and Principles of Casting out Demons. Applications for enrollment are now being received, but space is limited. For more information, please contact the Director of Admissions at:

FAQ

  • Is there an application fee?
No, anyone is eligible to enroll. Your enrollment is your application.
  • What are the benefits of completion to the Exorcist Level?
Upon completion of the Exorcist Level you will be certified to engage in exorcisms based on the paradigm of deliverance you have been taught. You may be invited to establish and train DWJD® deliverance teams.
  • Is the School of Exorcism accredited?
ISE is accredited by the Spiritual Freedom Churches, Inc. International, a non-denominational church organization with scores of affiliated and associated churches worldwide.
  • How closely am I monitored?
The ISE curriculum is self-guided so you can proceed at your own pace to complete the courses as quickly as you’d like. Questions about course materials can be answered by calling our international office at 303-980-1511.
  • If I am already in active deliverance ministry can I skip or waive some courses?
We appreciate the fact that you may already have experience in this area of ministry, but in order to ensure that everyone we certify operates in the same biblical and methodological paradigm, we require that all courses at all levels be pursued.
  • How long will my training last?
That is up to you. You can progress as rapidly or slowly as you wish.
  • What languages are available for ISE training?
Currently, we only have training in English but will expand to other languages as time and resources allow.
  • Will I be tested periodically?
Yes. Each lesson has a quiz which must be passed before you can proceed to the next lesson. If you don’t pass you can take the quiz an additional time and be retested without further cost.
  • What happens when a course is completed?
At the end of your course study, you will receive a certificate signed by Dr. Bob Larson.  Becoming certified opens the opportunity to attending the yearly ISE Convention, where you will meet others involved in deliverance ministry.  It also opens the opportunity to be able to start your own DWJD team in your area.
  • How much time will my course work require?
You may proceed at your own pace and complete your studies in whatever time frame is convenient to you.
  • Will I be evaluated in person by Rev. Bob Larson?
Those who complete the Exorcist Level of study will be personally certified by Rev. Larson, and he will observe and evaluate technical and spiritual proficiency at a mutually acceptable location.
  • Is Rev. Bob Larson the only instructor or evaluator?
All Course study materials are personally prepared by Rev. Larson though some evaluations and test materials will be handled by other instructors. All certification requires the personal approval of Rev. Larson.
  • Are scholarships available?
At the present time there are no scholarships available; however, a program will eventually be introduced to assist students on a need basis, though no timetable for such a program has been yet established.
  • Is there a discount for pastors or those in full time Christian service?
We anticipate that those involved in ministry will be our primary students; therefore to maintain the financial integrity of our mission we are not able to offer discounts with our opening enrollments. However, special arrangements can be made for churches who want to train a group of qualified individuals.
  • Are there discounts for family members?
Unfortunately, no discounts are available for family members.
  • Are there additional costs for attendance at Rev. Larson’s seminars and overseas missions?
Yes, those who advance to the Exorcist Level will be required to attend certain seminars for face-to-face evaluation and observational hands-on experience. Overseas missions would also be helpful to attain certification in some cases.
  • What are the age requirements?
Anyone 18-years-old or older is eligible. Minors 16-years-old or older require legal, parental permission and adult supervision.
  • Who may take these courses?
The courses are open to everyone of legal age; however, certification requires adherence to our Statement of Faith and Doctrine (based on historic, orthodox Christian creeds) and our Statement of Ethics and Practices.
  • Will my certification transfer to other Christian schools or colleges?
That will depend on a case-by-case basis. Attempts will be made to encourage other Christian institutions to recognize the importance of our certification.
  • If I quit, what happens to my tuition?
All tuition is non-refundable, except in the case of confirmed health emergencies which are disabling.
  • Under what conditions would I be expelled from the School?
Anyone violating the signed Enrollment Agreement’s conditions is subject to possible expulsion without refund. Such actions would be at the sole discretion of the Board of Directors of Spiritual Freedom Church Inc., International.
  • What Bible will be used in the Course studies?
In most cases, the New King James Version will be used for scriptural references, though the KJV and the NIV are also acceptable in most cases.
  • Do I need to be proficient in computer technology to take the Courses?
A working knowledge of computers and smart mobile devices would be helpful, since School information and courses will be available in such formats.
  • Is it possible to audit some of the classes without proceeding to certification?
No. Enrollment recommends that the student’s motives be directed toward certification. Individual students may decide at any point to take the Courses for personal education and may at their discretion not proceed to full certification.
  • Is there any trial or introductory course which may be sampled?
It is the School’s view that the teachings of Rev. Larson are so widely disseminated through books, videos and the Internet that any student could be reasonably aware of the nature of the training and evaluate it accordingly.
  • Should I go through deliverance before enrolling in the School?
We recommend that all prospective students arrange for a Personal One-On-One Spiritual Encounter with Rev. Larson. It is not a requirement but will be invaluable to understanding the processes which will be taught and to be spiritually prepared for the instruction to be received. An Encounter can be arranged at the time of enrollment or any time prior by calling our offices at 303-980-1511 or going online to www.boblarson.org.
  • What qualifies Rev. Larson to establish this school and training?
Rev. Bob Larson has been recognized as the world’s leading authority on cults, the occult, and exorcism. His 40 books have been translated into more than a dozen languages and his ministry spans nearly four decades. Several of his books and training videos are used for curriculum in leading universities and seminaries. He has personally performed more documented cases of exorcism than any Protestant minister in history. He pioneered the spiritual gifting of performing exorcisms publicly as a demonstration of Christ’s power over Satan.
  • What if I’m a new Christian and not well-versed in the Bible?
This course is just what you need. Studying the life of Christ and how He ministered is an excellent way to gain basic biblical knowledge of the mission of Jesus. ISE is an intensive way to grow in your understanding of Scripture.
